Based out of Nairobi, Kenya, GEA offers wind turbines, solar-run refrigerators, and all of the electronics to run electricity through a house. Their mission is “empowering communities through renewable energy.” By bringing electricity to communities, people’s lives become easier, and allow access to education. GEA is one of the many companies who are trying to end energy poverty while keeping the environment in mind. While every one in the world deserves to have access to electricity, we would run out of resources if everyone used fossil fuels. Bypassing fossil fuels and introducing renewable energy, we can solve energy poverty.

The vision of Green Energy Africa is “to develop and promote green energy products for better livelihoods.” With electricity, lives are improved, and with green energy, the environment remains healthy. Supporting companies such as GEA is important because they are moving technology in the right direction. The more that renewables used, the more accessible they will become to everyone.Screen Shot 2015-06-17 at 9.12.46 AM
