It’s about having great neighborhoods and having a variety of transportation choices for getting around your city. It’s about having a shorter and more enjoyable commute” Co-Founder, Josh Herst explains. This group wants to promote walkable towns. Space to walk encourages exercise, community engagement, and promotes a cleaner city.

All you have to do is type in the city you are interested in and it will give you a score, tell you which areas are best for walking in, if you can get groceries without a car, and even offers apartments for rent.

Josh Herst says that Walk Score was founded “with the mission of helping people find a walkable place to live.” Now they have teamed up with Redfin, a real-estate broker, to find great places for people to live in walkable towns.
