In addition to planning vacations for individuals or groups, they feature a program called Discover the World Education focused on organizing worldwide geographically focused study trips for students. These school excursions are aimed at giving students an opportunity to engage in hands-on learning as part of their geography education. The trips range in location from China, to Iceland, and the Azores, and feature areas of study such as glaciations, volcanoes, tectonics, energy sustainability, and the impacts of tourism on the natural environment. Students learn about how humans interact with the environment, how they are changing it, how they can best mitigate and adapt to changing conditions, and how environmental issues can best be studied, represented through technology, and tackled. Students are also given the chance to meet and speak with expert scientists and geographers involved in in-depth studies of the sites.Screen Shot 2015-06-15 at 9.43.59 AM

Allowing students to see and experience the wonders of our planet is an incredible opportunity to enhance their own understanding of the importance of protecting its resources and ecosystems. Engaging in Geography cannot be done solely inside a classroom behind a book, and walking in the footsteps of the great explorers and naturalists at the root of the field of Geography is a crucial part of the learning process. Screen Shot 2015-06-15 at 9.50.57 AM
