Waze is the world’s largest community-based traffic and navigation app. It lets users share information with drivers in their area on real-time traffic and road info, with the intent of saving people time and gas money on their daily commute. Waze’s vision is to get the millions of drivers out on the roads to work together towards a common goal: outsmarting traffic and getting everyone the best route to work and back, every day.
The app provides alerts for users before they approach police, accidents, road hazards or traffic jams, all shared by other drivers in real-time. The app functions like a personal heads-up from a few million of your friends on the road. The app works because an active community of Waze map editors are constantly improving and updating Waze’s maps, which is why Waze is the first to reflect changes happening in neighborhoods, constantly improving routing for everyone. Waze also helps users navigate to the cheapest station on their route, all powered by community-shared gas prices. By working together to report prices at the pump, Waze drivers can always save some gas money.
