Map of the Week: Moon Landing Anniversary

Today, July 20th, is Moon Day.  This day celebrates the landing of Apollo 11 on the moon in 1969. This was the first spacecraft to land on the moon with people. Below is a map of the birthplaces of all of the American Astronauts who have walked on the moon. This was a huge step in science.

The Astronauts are: Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Pete Conrad, Alan Bean, Alan Shepard, Edgar Mitchell, David Scott, James Irwin, John W. Young, Charles Duke, Eugene Cernan, Harrison Schmitt.
