On June 24th, 2016 the AGS staff and some of the AGS council met for a meeting in the Thompson Hine office of Manhattan. The folks at Thompson Hine are important supporters of AGS and we are grateful for their continued hospitality and support over the years. The photos below capture some of the highlights from the meeting.
The Board announced their new President, Marie Price, and Chairman, Christopher Tucker. Previous President, John Gould will continue working with AGS as our Treasurer. Read more in Changing of the Guard, an article by AGS Councilor, Dr. Deborah Popper about this important transition of AGS roles.
On a special note: a moment of silence was held in memory of Deborah Borowiecki’s life. Deborah clearly valued the advancement of geography in our world and her contributions to AGS will be used to do just that in honor of her memory. Read our tribute, which was read aloud during the council meeting, here.
